During the 19th century, Victorians began wearing various  jewlery with operculum shells.  They believed this eye shaped shell would protect them from evil and ward off curses by absorbing negative energy. 
 
This Operculum shell ring is entirely hand fabricated. All parts are forged on the anvil from a 950 silver ingot. All engravings are done by hand using a sharpened nail. It features a 19mm Operculum shell. No casting and no electric tools were used in the process.
